Confirmation
Confirmation is a sacrament which confirms the action of God in Baptism and strengthens individuals to become like Christ within the Christian community. It is a sacrament of initiation in the church and, as such, the community should be involved in assisting the candidates to become more fully incorporated in the life of the Church.
Religious instruction is an important component of the preparation for Confirmation. The purpose of the instruction is to lead the candidate to a deeper faith and to grow more active in the life of the Church. Confirmation is a beginning of living a deeper faith and more active role in the parish. Growth in faith is a life-long response to God’s call.
Confirmation at takes place every year for 7th grade students attending the school or FLOCK program. Preparation is comprised of education, community service, a retreat experience, and a process of faith enrichment.
Adults being received into the Church are prepared through the OCIA process. For more information about OCIA please click on the “Becoming Catholic” tab found under Faith Formation.
